The following testimonial was written by
an overseas student who graduated from St Matthew's recently:
Hello, my name is Brenda. I can always remember the first time I came to this school. July 1999, the moment I walked into the school, I felt warmth. Every girl was smiling. I was received with an open arm. Teachers were very aware of my new coming and they assisted me everywhere they could. I boarded at school and I still board. I love the boarding environment. Matrons are like mothers. They take good care of us. They share the joy with us, but also listen patiently to our troubles. Everything is systematic. Getting up in the morning, breakfast, school, after school activities, sports, dinner, prep time etc.
The school focuses both on academic and sports. Students are also given the opportunity in
cultural events such as choir and drama. School's biggest and most enjoyable cultural event
will have to be House music. Everyone participates and everyone loves it, even the parents.
Students are given lots of opportunities at St.Matthew's.
In the 6th and 7th form, girls go out to Rathkeale/ St. Matthew's senior college to study. This gives me the opportunity to learn and compete with the boys. We come back to the St. Matthew's site after school. Even though, interaction with the boys is fun, when I come back to St. Matts, I feel like I am coming home. It is warm and loving. I really love it here.
